Choosing from different elliptical gliders: The many eliptical machine manufacturers and what you can expect from them.(Part 1)
There are at least 10 manufacturers of elliptical gliders currently in the marketplace. The eliptical machines offered by these companies range from $300 to easily ten times that amount. Like most products that you purchase, you get what you pay for.

Consequently, here is a list of some of the manufacturers of elliptical gliders and what you should expect from them. We should remind you that this list is not exhaustive and there might very well be a few developers of eliptical machines that we might have left off.

Precor - This is the company that is known to have invented the prototype of most elliptical gliders that you see today. They have the reputation for having the best components and rival many of the eliptical machines that you see at the gym. Be prepared to pay a little more for Precor than you would for other elliptical trainers.

Smooth - Because of its outstanding reputation with its treadmills, they have made great inroads with their elliptical gliders. What is more noteworthy is that just like their treadmills, you get a quality product at a relatively affordable price as they avoid retailers and sell directly to the consumer.
