While we don't want to give an in-depth breakdown between Lifefitness elliptical X5i and the Precor's new EFX 5.33, we will tell you that its selectstride technology allows you to adjust your elliptical stride up from 18 inches all the way up to 24 inches. If you have read any of our other articles, you'll know that an elliptical stride is a very important feature in an elliptical machine.

If you are tall, there are many elliptical trainers which just wouldn't suit you because the shorter strides wouldn't provide any intensity to your workouts. However, an elliptical machine with an adjustable elliptical stride will allow multiple people in a house to have the SAME level of intensity. Consequently, if you see multiple people in your house using an elliptical trainer, we believe that you should strongly consider this machine, even if it is significantly more than other elliptical trainers.



The X3i brand of Life Fitness elliptical machines:

This brand runs around $3,000. It has just about all the features of the Lifefitness elliptical X5i, except the variable selectstride feature that we talked about above. While this is an elliptical trainer that is of great quality, we think that the lack of the selectstride feature makes it a less attractive buy than the X5i. Bottom line: If you are willing to spend $3,000, why not spend $500.00 more and be able to adjust the elliptical stride.
